Argenzil Cream
Wide spectrum antimicrobial agent against gram (+) and gram (-) microorganisms, specially indicated against Pseudomona aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus, Klebsiellas, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans.
Mechanism Of Action
Inclusion of Ag ion on the carboxyl link of the bacterias deoxyribonucleic acid with the following destruction of cellular membrane.
Inhibitor of bacterial para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA).
Maximimum active ingredient micronization enables a faster diffusion over the damaged tissue, with greater effectiveness, destroying microorganisms in less time.
Uses
Argenzil is indicated for prevention and treatment of infections in burns, ulcers, sores and general wounds, being particularly effective against Pseudomonas.
Directions
After rinsing and drying the lesion, apply 1 or 2 times per day a coating of 3 to 5mm covering all the affected surface. Use sterile gloves or a spatula. In large burns this has to be done every 12 hours. Before any application remove the remaining cream and all secretions with plenty of water. Its advised to use one container for each patient. Discard any remaining cream.
Contraindications
Use not advised while pregnant or in newborns. Use not advised during lactation. Use with caution on patients allergic to sulfonamides or with impaired liver or kidney function.
Warning
Can cause localized skin decoloration if exposed to sunlight. Caution for patients with glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Safety not established for pediatric patients.
Adverse Side Effects
Leucopenia, allergic dermatitis, skin discoloration.
